For our 2025 Leadership Blue Trainings, we’re excited to present a learning track based schedule of training curriculum to meet the needs of Democrats at every level.

DECs, Clubs, and Caucuses Track

Join our Party Affairs team and Party Leadership to learn more about best practices for your branch of the FDP. Build your local toolbox with the tools to maximize engagement, build your membership base, and retain strong leaders and advocates in your communities.

Best Practices for Volunteer Recruitment and Management

Volunteers are the backbone of our movement—but getting them in the door is just the beginning. In this session, FDP Field Director Chris Byrnes will lead a hands-on conversation about how to recruit new volunteers, keep them engaged, and build leadership pathways that turn one-time helpers into long-term organizers. We’ll share strategies that work, tools that make the experience smoother, and tips for creating the kind of culture that makes people want to come back—and bring their friends.

Your Data Toolbox

This training covers the free & paid tools the FDP offers to all chartered DECs, clubs, and caucuses, as well as our democratic campaigns. We will discuss ways to get your team plugged in with organizing tools like VAN, paid phone tools like Scale to Win Text and AutoDialer, and more! We will also highlight the resources available for you & your team when using your data tools.

Conflict Resolution Workshop

This workshop is designed to equip party leaders with practical tools and strategies to navigate conflict effectively—whether within campaigns, local parties, coalitions, or community engagement. Participants will learn how to identify the root causes of conflict, address them constructively, and foster a culture of collaboration and trust.

Continuity Planning

This workshop will prepare party leaders to build strong, sustainable local infrastructure by creating systems that ensure smooth leadership transitions, institutional memory, and long-term strategic alignment. Participants will walk away with tools and frameworks to support the ongoing strength and stability of their local Democratic organizations—regardless of changes in leadership, staff, or political cycles.

Candidates and Campaigns Track

So you wanna run for office? Or support someone running for office? Join our Candidates and Campaigns Team to learn more about best practices for Candidate Recruitment and support, and to learn more about our candidate targets for this cycle and beyond

Build the Bench

This workshop aims to equip party leaders with a framework for recruiting strong candidates for office in Florida. We recognize that building a strong bench of leaders in our state requires a collective effort.

In this workshop, we will explore:

  • The qualities of strong candidates
  • The diverse challenges candidates may face
  •  Strategies to set up candidates for success

Participants will develop the skills to recruit candidates and gain resources to guide these crucial conversations.

The School Board Landscape in Florida

As the state where Moms for Liberty began and a focal point for far-right attempts to weaken public education, Florida is at the forefront of the battle against ideological extremism. This workshop is designed to illustrate the current school board landscape in Florida and how we can build on the success of the 2024 elections to continue pushing back.

Key takeaways will include:
Insights into the significant influence of school board members
Strategies for countering the far-right’s attack on public education
An understanding of the elections map for 2026, including the most critical flip and protect opportunities

Deep Dive Track

Delve a little deeper and learn more about our Field Programming and Voter Registration Programming, and learn some media training in this set of trainings designed for experienced party leaders and advocates.

Voter Registration in Florida: A Deepdive

This training will provide party leaders with all the information needed to develop and/or enhance a community voter registration program. In this training we will outline the process of developing and implementing a voter registration program from start to finish. We will also be delving into all the resources in our voter registration toolbox from unregistered voter data to specific voter registration tactics that have been proven successful.

Field and Florida: A Deep Dive

Join FDP’s Statewide Field Director Chris Byrnes for a look at our new year-round organizing program. We’ll walk through how we’re building field infrastructure in every region, supporting DECs, clubs, and caucuses, and expanding our volunteer base to reach more voters than ever. Whether you’re a field veteran or brand-new to organizing, this session will give you the tools, structure, and strategy you need to plug in and help win in 2026—and beyond.
